As the group became established, members created of Palliative Care Guidelines for the West Midlands. This resource continues to this day, now published online here, and with the latest hard copy available to buy online – you can buy a copy here.
The group is now a Society and meets three times a year around the region and has a rolling Chair and Vice Chair. All palliative medicine consultants, hospice medical directors and specialist palliative pharmacists in the region are eligible to attend, with a current membership of over 60 professionals. As well as a forum for providing education, other benefits of the group include opportunities for collaboration in research, academic development, guideline generation, audit and strategy within the West Midlands.
